Don't Look Back...You Are Not Going That Way!
I have this sign in my home and often I look at it to remind me of the importance of looking forward and not looking back. When life throws a curve it is so easy to look at what we did have or could have had. I like to call them the would've, could've, should'ves. And when we look back we miss out on all the opportunities present with us and those to come. The laughter, the smile, a hug, time with family and with friends, creativity and just simple solitude.
I think one of the most important things the pandemic has taught us is how to enjoy the present and how to be present. We have become a society of busyness, always on the go and looking for more. Yes, we learned over these several months how to be thankful for the little things, the important things. To appreciate the moment and relish in the journey.
So my encouragement is to not look back to the way it was, but to enjoy the moment as you look ahead with expectation to the greater things to come. It's always easy to look back. However if you find yourself looking back, just take a peek at it, learn from it, and then choose to Keep Going!
"... But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." Phil. 3:13b-14
